What is Narration | Direct Speech and Indirect Speech

Narration

Narration means to narrate something said by someone.

There are two kinds of Speech

1) Direct Speech

2) Indirect Speech

1)  Direct Speech

When we use the actual
words of the speaker without making any change, it is called the Direct speech.

Example :

1    Amar said to me, “I am a boy”.
2     Amar said to me, “He is a teacher”
.

2) Indirect Speech

When we give the substance
of the speaker’s sentence in our own words it is called Indirect Speech.

Example :

1    Amar told me that Soni was my friend.
2   Ram said that honesty is the best policy.
