Noun : संज्ञा 

Noun is the name of persons, places, things, ideas, and feelings. 

किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान, विचार और भावना के नाम को संज्ञा कहते है ा 

Examples : Amar, Ram, India, Bihar, Pen, Mobile etc.

There are five kinds of Noun

1) Proper Noun

2) Common Noun

3) Collective Noun

4) Material Noun

5) Abstract Noun

Proper Noun | व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा 

The particular name of person, place, thing, animal is called a Proper Noun

किसी खास व्यक्ति वस्तु, स्थान और जानवर के नाम को व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा कहते है ा

The name of person, place, thing, animal used as common is called a Common Noun

3  }  Collective Noun | समूहवाचक संज्ञा

The Noun which expresses the collection of person, place, things, or animals is called a Collective Noun

वह संज्ञा जिससे किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान और जानवर के समूह का बोध हो उसे समूहवाचक संज्ञा कहते है ा 

1) A team of players

 Material Noun | द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा

The Noun which can be measured, weighted or touched is called Material Noun.

वह संज्ञा जिसे नापा, तौला, और छुआ जा सके उसे द्रव्यवाचक  संज्ञा कहते है ा

 Abstract Noun | भाववाचक संज्ञा

The Noun which cannot be measured, weighted or touched is called an  Abstract Noun.

4. कुछ Noun  हमेशा Singular form में ही Use किये जाते है क्योकि उन्हें हम Uncountable Noun  के category में रखते है ा

5. कुछ Noun की Plural Form नहीं होती है ,वे Singular और Plural  दोनों ही Form  में Same रहते है 
Example : 
Deer , Sheep , Series , Fish , Jury , Aircraft, Swine  etc. 

There are five sheep in the garden. (plural)
There is one sheep in the garden. (singular)

6. Counting Expressing Noun का प्रयोग अकेले में Plural Form होता है , लेकिन किसी Digit के साथ आए तो वे Singular होते है।
Dozen, Hundred, Thousand, Quarter, Foot, Meter, Score, Million, Billion, Year, Liter, Crore, Lakh, Day, Mile etc.
Dozens of eggs were sold.
दर्जनों अंडे बेचे गए 
Two dozen eggs were sold.
दो दर्ज़न अंडे बेचे गए
