The main form of the verb is called Infinitive.

Verb का पहला रूप Infinitive कहलाता है 

Amar wants to play football.

I want to enjoy the party.

Amar must go there.

There are 2 kinds of Infinitive.

1. To-Infinitive

2. Bare Infinitive

To-Infinitive 

वह Infinitive जिसका प्रयोग To के साथ होता है उसे To-Infinitive कहते है 

 1. इसका प्रयोग Subject के रूप में किया जाता है 

To walk is a good exercise.

To laugh is a good exercise.

To speak Hindi is easy. 

To learn science is necessary.

To get success is possible.

 2. इसका प्रयोग Object के रूप में किया जाता है 

I want to play.

I want to write.

She wants to sleep.

Amar wants to be a teacher

I want to earn money.

I will try to come

 3. इसका प्रयोग Adjective के रूप में करते है 

Cows give us milk to drink

Farmers give us grain to eat

Goats give us meat to eat

Hens give us egg to eat

I have a house to live in

I have a chair to sit on

I have work to do

I have a letter to write

 4. इसका प्रयोग know के बाद how के साथ करते है 

I know how to swim.

I know how to play.

I know how to fly

I know how to cook.

I know how to read

 5. इसका प्रयोग Verb to be के रूप में करते है 

I am to go

I am to play

They are to play

They are to leave

 6. इसका प्रयोग Verb to have के रूप में करते है 

I have to write a letter.

I have to cook food.

Farmers have to plough the field

Farmers have to grow the crops

Bare-Infinitive 

वह Infinitive जिसका प्रयोग बिना To  के साथ होता है उसे Bare -Infinitive कहते है 

Let me go

Amar can write

He would rather die than beg.

Amar had better go there.

1.  Modals के बाद Bare Infinitive का प्रयोग करते है  

Ram can swim in the river.
